Mr. T. Roosevelt & yoga

Some wise words from Mr. T. Roosevelt.  No?

It's Monday, the weekend is over and I'm back to my day job.
I know there have been some hard things happening out there.  Triggers, impossible decisions and just the general difficulty of living.
While walking around the office, typing reports and standing at the water cooler, I am thinking about you and I am praying for all of us.

For those of us who have small amounts of trust and faith, it is the strangest thing to have our prayers answered by the Creator.  To fervently say, "I need help," and then be washed with that feeling of peace. It is unreal.  Does He really know me?

I know He does.
He is our Maker, intimately tied to each of us.
And, I know that sometimes it doesn't seem like it, but our pleas for peace are heard and acted on.  Because, that is His only objective; our peace, our joy.

P.S. All Arizona locals, I have the most compassionate and self-less friend.  She has agreed to teach a women's only private yoga class on a regular basis, just for us!!  She is the same yoga teacher who came to Camp Scabs AZ and led a guided healing meditation that was phenomenal.
Phenomenal.  Camp Alumni, back me up on this.

Yoga has taught me how to heal and reconnect with my mind, body, spirit and emotions.  It has been central to my own healing.

This is still in the planning stage but we are thinking Monday evenings around 8 or 8:30 at night.  It will be held at a yoga studio in Tempe.  Anyone interested?  Make some comments below or just email me.  I'd like to see how much interest there is.

If you've never practiced yoga, don't worry.
This will be very simple, basic and meditative catering to our sensitive needs and of course we will practice the same anonymity of 12-step.

I am thrilled!!

  1. Thanks for sharing Scabs. It's nice to have a reminder how much our Creator is with us always.

    2. Have you read, "One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are" by Ann Voskamp?? I am currently reading it and it's all about learning how to be grateful, thankful and to live in the moment. It's very symbolic too in a sense of what Christ did for us. Can't wait to see you in October :)

  5. I would love this. I'm in northwest Phoenix, but depending on the location in Tempe I'd totally be interested. I'm not too familiar with AZ yet- but this is like a 20-30 minute drive, right?

    1. right downtown on Mill. We'd love to see you there!! I'll get you more info when we're ready to begin doing this but yeah, depends on where you are in NW phoenix and which freeway you can take but 20-30 mins sounds right.

  6. It is so awesome to realize that God is aware, that he cares, he's listening and providing.

Wish I could join you for yoga- but I did decide to try it out at our YMCA this fall once school is back in gear for the kiddos. I've been relying on fast paced super draining HIIT workouts/bootcamp type classes that have helped with my healing quite a bit. But I'm excited to add yoga, what I imagine to be a slower, calmer, more peaceful, but still challenging experience. Thanks for the motivation to make the time for it!

    1. For me, yoga has become such an emotional experience. A place where I can shed layers of whatever ails me and then reconnect my heart and mind. I'm glad to hear you're going to try it. It was a game changer for me!

  7. I love, love, love yoga! I have found so much inner peace while doing yoga.

I'm amazed how close I've gotten to God by working my steps. I've really been able to put my Faith in Him and let things go.

    1. You're so tuned in Elsie! Yoga did the same for me and so did the steps. Each place on this journey has been a place of growth. Yoga and meditation has helped me deal with the hard emotions and finding my path.

      xoxo!!

  10. I'd love to join you! I hit rock bottom last June after the discovery of the monster in my marriage - I chose Canyon Ranch over the mental hospital and remembered there how much I love and need Yoga as part of my self-care/self-awareness. I haven't been great at keeping it part of my daily routine but I'd love to get back into practice. Count me in!
