Camp Scabs Survey

<

Time for Camp Scabs!
This is an idea that's been brewing in the back of my mind for awhile.

Alt Summit just finished this last weekend with loads of fashionably dressed blogging minds converging together in a beautiful resort over yummy dinners and inspiring speakers.

Camp Scabs might be similar except we have a small group of ladies,
wear sweatpants, we would be our own speakers and you don't have to blog.
It's a girls weekend!

What do you say?
(the survey will be open for one week and I'll publish the results)

  1. If you decide to do this in Utah, let me know and I can probably hook you up with some speakers (if you wanted to go that route). I also have a potential venue at least if you were to have a 'meeting/speakers' part of things. (They would want it used for educational purposes.)

    1. Thanks so much for offering that's very sweet. From the looks of the survey I think Utah will certainly be one of our camp locations! yeah! but I think we're gonna keep this low key. Just a time to get together, make friends, bond, lay around in our sweatpants, enjoy the hot tub, maybe do some yoga...just chill.

    1. Oh Sidreis! I feel so sad that you don't think you'd make the cut. Especially after getting to know you, emailing you, texting you and sharing your story about someones cat with scabs! I'm cringing and laughing just thinking about that story! love it!

I'm planning on multiple camps throughout the year. It will be a mini-camp with about 8-10 of us but if there's more interest...we'll make more room. Everyone's invited. I will go to the states you all vote for. If there's enough interest I will plan more camps for more people. So, there is no cut or special process to be part of camp scabs or popularity contest. We are all invited. And we will make room for everyone.

  5. I'd love to join, love to, but not sure I'd make the cut either. I'm not a blogger but an avid reader & semi-active participant! (Funny, the feels like a tryout for 'Affair Idol' or something!) ;-) In all seriousness, though, I really would love to join but can always wait for subsequent ones. I've got 2 year old twins so travel isn't super easy, though my H does facilitate (he's not all bad, eh?!) ;-) I live in Los Angeles (recently located there from NYC).

  6. I couldn't travel that far. I'd love to join though. Maybe have a later camp nearer to PA? As in, in PA. Maybe right outside Philly? And it should be camping, with the amenities shown in that beautiful photo.
Ahhh, seriously Promised Land on Pocono Mountain.
    Make it happen.

  8. I live in South America - so if you ever come down here, let me know! This sounds like a great idea, I'd love to be a part of it. Maybe sometime if I'm ever back in Utah it would work out.

    1. How in the world did you get to South America (which by the way is pretty cool)? I thought you lived on the east coast...maybe I'm totally off. But yes, keep in touch...who knows how this camp scabs thing will go.

    2. I vote yes on South America (Not that I can afford that.) Where are you, Bec?

  11. Okay. Not kidding. I know someone who is building a retreat for just this very thing. Like I am serious. I am going to send this link her way. She will be thrilled. I also came across this a couple weeks ago. Check it out. It is a private retreat with Carol Lynn Pearson. http://www.clpearson.com/CLPRetreatFLYER.pdf

  12. Oh nice. We were in a Arbinger Coach/Therapist training together. She mentioned she was building a cabin/facility on some pretty Utah land for women to use for retreats so I thought why not mention it. You just never know. I will be curious to learn more. Hope something fun comes together for all you lovely ladies. The support you have found and formed together seems like good stuff. Healing kind of stuff.

  13. You KNOW I'm in for this. There's also Tahoe. ;)

  14. I'm in favor of PA too!- or OH, Philly is a little far, but definitely doable.

  15. Actually, since this will be a mini camp, I'm serious about Tahoe. I'll host. Or if we want to reach northern and southern california, we could always get yurts or tent cabins at Big Sur or something (or Santa Barbara area somewhere). I'm in.

  16. This idea is brilliant! Thank you for putting it out there. I really hope it can come together. I live in Washington, but would be willing to attend one of these just about anywhere. Utah and California would be my first choices, and Washington in July or August would be next. When the sun shines here, there is nothing like it! :)
    Thank you.

    1. it's ok. if you decide to come we have some top secret rules like no photos, we agree to respect anonymity, respect others place in this journey and some more. i understand the sensitivity of this all.

  18. I'm interested in Tahoe or northern CA too, but am anonymous at this point too. I think this is a great idea, btw.

    1. Anonymous (and Anonymous above, too!) - A number of us got together last summer. At that time we were all anonymous to each other (obviously Mac is not my real name). In fact, Scabs helped me buy the ticket and I sent her my credit card number. I thought I had gone mad that I was sending my credit card number to a stranger!! Anyway, it was the best thing I have ever done. There is something so incredibly healing about spending a weekend with people who GET IT. We left that weekend still knowing nothing about each others' kids or how we met our spouses or any of the usual girlie small talk. We immediately connected on a deeper level. If it's possible, I recommend you join in. Besides, if you're in northern california, you and I might end up buddies. :)

  19. Thanks Mac! That's reassuring to know that some of you have met before. It sounds fun and healing!
